Myrlin is Live

Ahoy hoy!

Wanted to put something in here so it doesn’t look like the site is died, or I am. I promise neither assumption would be accurate.

Anyway, Myrlin has been live for about a month now and I haven’t promoted it at all. Why? Because updates, updates, updates. Lots of small bugs to fix, and one big one, as well as a lot of polish.

Long story short, a decision I made many moons ago about linking scenes to Headings came back to bite me, and it was easier to implement a different system than to make that one work reliably and robustly.

Anyway, the app is still in active development, but it is right about where I want it to be as far as all the currently available features and how things look and feel. I’m going to take a break on the updates to give the wonderful handful of people who are using it time to test it out and let me know what else they want to see it be capable of.

That means it’s finally time for me to start making Youtube videos. Oh, hip hip hooray. Blegh.

Now for the real job of these blogs — Keyword stuffing. Let’s get to work!

Myrlin (AKA Myrlin Indie Writer) is writing software (I don’t like calling it a writing app, or novel writing app, or book writing app, or anything like that, because app sounds ugly to me) meant you, that’s right, YOU — indie author on the internet. It’s a tool, a tool suite for writers, even. It has all the things you crave — writing goals, writing sprints, outlining tools that are definitely not a Corkboard, sticky notes, writing sprints, formatting for publication in EPUB and PDF ready to upload to Amazon. Gamify your writing. Make every word count. It’s an organization tool, a habit tracker, a…I’m runing out of SEO ideas here. One time purchase? Is that a thing people search for? It is that. Productivity! Yeah. I’m all about productivy as a creative person always on the lookout for alternatives to Scrivener and Atticus and Odysseus and Word and Google Docs myself. Is it the BEST SOFTWARE FOR WRITERS? Maybe. Maybe not. Will it help you PUBLISH YOUR FIRST NOVEL? Yes. Yes it will. Assuming you are self-publishing. I guess it would help for traditional publishing as well in that it can help you FINISH YOUR NOVEL. Does writing in all caps help anything? GOOGLE, PLEASE HELP, I DON’T KNOW THE RULES.

So on and so forth. I actually started a new writing project myself recently. Not the Deck of Dragons story, I’m probably dropping that. But I’ll make an update about the new story idea if I get much farther in it.
